Srinivasan , Popularly known as Power Star Srinivasan is an
Indian film actor, director and producer known for his spectacular work aimed
towards popularity in Tamil cinema. He has produced and acted in the Tamil
movie Lathika (2011). He is a Acupuncture Doctor by profession which he
still practices. He has acted in guest roles in movies such as Mandapam,
Unakkaga Oru Kavithai, Neethana Avan and Indrasena. As of
September 2012, Srinivasan was playing the lead role in a Tamil film Kanna
Laddu Thinna Aasaiya produced by actor Santhanam. He owns a hospital called
Lathika Hospital in Chennai.
Arrest
On 14 September 2012, Srinivasan was
arrested by the Chennai police on charges of defrauding G. U. Balasubramanian,
proprietor of RBS International in Chromepet. According to Balasubramanian,
Srinivasan had promised to provide him a loan of Rs. 10 crore and in return
demanded from him a charge of Rs.65 lakhs to process the loan but neither gave
him the loan nor reimbursed the processing charges. He was released on bail two
weeks later.
On 21 March 2013, Ganesh Kumar of
Nehru Nagar in Madurai alleged that he lent Rs. 9 Lakhs to Srinivasan which he
promised to return in two months time and the post dated cheque issued by
Srinivasan to settle the lent amount had bounced. A case was registered and The
Madurai High Court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Srinivasan
since the actor did not appear in front of the court after being summoned
twice. Srinivasan made an appearance in Madurai Court on 8 April 2013,
following which the arrest warrant was cancelled and the case was pushed for
hearing on 25 April 2013 by Honorable Judge Sundaram.
On 26 April 2013, The Central Crime
Branch arrested Srinivasan on charges of cheating. The arrest was due to his
involvement in many cheating cases.
Latest news also confirms of an
arrest for duping a delhi based business man for an amount of 5 Crores.

Srinivasan is also one of the actors
who is considered as laughing stock and comedian type actor by public. Most of
the videos in YouTube regarding him has maximum views and many people who
commented hurled abuses and also some people consider it funny. Fans of Telugu
actor Pawan Kalyan who also shares the same nickname "Power Star"
were reported angry on Srinivasan for being more popular on Google searches and
they threaten to burn his effigy.
